Hallam Partnership

The collaboration between Sheffield Hallam University (Sport Hallam) and Sheffield Hockey Club helps to ensure that Sheffield Hallam athletes have the opportunity to compete at the highest levels.

Prior to the partnership, Sheffield Hallam University ran independent teams within the Yorkshire leagues whilst the more performance based athletes joined Sheffield Hockey Club. In order to maximise the potential of both clubs the partnership was created and has continued to develop into an extremely important component for both parties. Recent developments have included the introduction of a new and specific Team Hallam Hockey focus group. With representatives from Sheffield Hallam Student Union, Sport Hallam, University Hockey Club and Sheffield Hockey Club the group is tasked with continuing to improve and develop the partnership for the benefit of the sports and its athletes.

The long standing and successful partnership between both Sheffield Hockey Club and Sport Hallam has seen improvements in performance, development and participation including:

  • Training and match day facilities
  • Coaching resource
  • Administration support
  • Physiotherapy and Sport Science support
  • Recruitment of new members
