Club Skills Day

The 1st Annual Skills Day @ Sheffield Hockey Club

Saturday 18th August, 12pm – 6.30pm.

This is a day to learn some new hockey skills or brush up on old rusty ones before the season kicks off. It will be a fun day for people of all ages and abilities to come down get involved and hopefully win some prizes!


12pm – Junior Squads Display


1pm - Training drills at 6 skill stations, coaching will be in small groups with 2 coaches per group.
The key skills covered will be:


  • Passing skills (pushing, slapping, hitting etc)
  • Receiving the ball (post ups, roll outs, v-drags etc)
  • Reverse stick skills
  • 3D Skills
  • Flicks (Drag and Penalty)
  • Aerials and show off skills


4pm - Competitions, including a Crossbar Challenge, Penalty shoot out, and Drag-Flick Challenge where prizes can be won.


4.30pm – Mixed Friendly matches with more prizes for using the skills in a game situation.


This day is open to all within and outside the club so please spread the word! Tell all your teammates and friends to get down and get involved! It’s only £5 for some quality coaching and a really enjoyable day.
