Easter Camp Grows on last years success

This Easter Sheffield HC hosted an Easter Fun hockey camp for ages 7-15 on the 2nd to the 5th of April. The camp provided 53 young players with the opportunity to enjoy their hockey through games in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Rain, snow or sunshine, a lot of fun was to be had by all including the camp coaches.

Our experienced camp coaches Charlie, James and Simon provided an action packed three days with opportunities to improve and expand hockey skills. Activities such as hockey tennis and cross bar challenge introduced and developed 3d skills honing their ability to lift the ball under control amongst many other skills and games. Even the Camp Coaches were shown up on a few occasions. Maybe the prospect of winning a chocolate egg provided too great an incentive?

Unfortunately one of the camp days had to be cancelled this year due to the pitch being covered in snow. However the rest of the days had relatively normal weather conditions.

The Camp ran from 10am until 3pm. Each day comprised of four hours pitch time, split around an hour lunch break. During the lunch breaks the kids showed us their assortment of pack lunches which created some envy from James and his tuna sandwich. Quiz master James Bateman entertained the kids covering general knowledge and hockey related topics before returning to the pitch for team orientated afternoons.

A brief reprieve in the weather did allow the sun to come out on the final day giving the kids a much welcomed burst from the water cannons which they had been politely requesting all week.

Now that the Easter camp is over we can now look forward to the skill clinics and the Summer camp.

Summer camp places are now available and bookings are made through Simon Law. This years Easter and Summer camp form are the same so please download it from the website or request a copy from Simon.
