James Brownhill Memorial Tournament

James Brownhill Memorial Tournament

We are holding a memorial hockey game/tournament in memory of James Brownhill and in aid of The James Brownhill Memorial Fund. This fund has been set up by James’ family following his death on 1st July 2011, on the Frendo spur, Chamonix, France. The fund aims to encourage and foster a higher level of safety, good practice and sustainability within university climbing clubs.

The hockey tournament will take place on Sunday 30th of October at Abbeydale Sports Club. Depending on numbers we will be either playing a game or a tournament (7 aside). We will be doing fundraising throughout the day through raffles etc and also charging a small match fee to players, and entrance fee to spectators. This will be a brilliant day and i hope everyone comes down and shows support for the Brownhills and The James Brown Memorial Fund.

The event is open to anyone and everyone so invite as many people as you want. If you would like to play please contact Phil Parkes using the contact details below with your name and a contact number as we need to know numbers as soon as possible. This will be a great day with a BBQ/other food and drinks throughout the day and evening in the bar. Please invite anyone you like to the event especially if they had the pleasure of knowing James.

Any questions please contact Phil Parkes on [email protected]
