England U21 Action for Sheffield past, present and future

England U21's travelled to Largs in Scotland over the weekend of the 20th/21st August and played two matches against their Scottish counterparts.
The first match was a tight affair with present Sheffield Hallam HC athlete Phil Roper scoring the solitary goal from a penalty corner in the 65th minute to win the match 1-0.
In the second match England took their chances well and David Goodfield, a new recruit for Sheffield's 2011-2012 season, scored his first goal at this level after 2 minutes of the game. David has been moved up from the U18 team post their European's in July and this weekend was his first experience at U21 level and he stated that
"It was a great standard to play at and I enjoyed the experience."
Finally Ben Stoney who played for Sheffield Hallam HC for a number of years before departing to attend the University of Birmingham scored in the 65th minute to finish the scoring at 7-1. Phil Roper also scored another goal in the second game from a penalty corner in the 48th minute, Match Reports
