Sheffield youngsters selected for Junior Regional Performance Centre

Congratulations to the all the Sheffield players who have been selected for this year's Junior Regional Performance Centre (JRPC) training groups. Over the summer the players will attend six full days of training at the University of Leeds which will culminate in the chance to represent the Leeds Pumas against the other northern JRPC's, Durham and Manchester.

From these matches the U15's & U17's are selected to go to a High Performance Assessment Camp with players from the other three regions in the country.

The U16's and U18's go forward to the Futures Cup, and playing as the Pennine Pumas, they play a set of matches against each of the other regions. These matches are used by the England Age Group Coaches to select players for next seasons England junior training squads.

At the JRPC, not only will the players get high quality coaching from the Regional Coaches, but will also receive additional input from the England Hockey Centrally Contracted Coaches and will take part in off-pitch sessions dealing with nutrition, hydration, fitness principles, injury management, injury prevention and lifestyle balance.
