The Sheffield Hallam ladies 3s went out hard against Brigg with last week's narrow defeat to Bankers 2s still at the front of their minds.
In the first few minutes the ball was in our attacking circle and with Emmy Beeby and Sam Casson linking up well we seemed to have our rhythm back.
It took until the first short corner, which was hit home by Sam Casson beating the goal keeper squarely on the near side post, to break the deadlock.
There were excellent breaks along the right across the park through Tomi Hafferty feeding the ball to Skye Thompson-Moore and Emmy with lovely crosses back again to Sam and Miriam Hides.
Second goal came from a deflection to Miriam on the near post and all she had to do was poke it over the line from 6 inches!
Miriam was causing all sorts of problems for the goal keeper by continuously sharking around the pads.
Miraim scored her second, the final goal of the first half, from an impossible angle on the back line over the goal keeper after running from half way.
Brigg remained dangerous on the break and just before half time Sophie Tomlinson had to come out all the way to the top of the D to clear the ball one on one with a Brigg attacker.
The second half started with some patient switching of the ball through Steffi O'Brien and Amy at the back and excellent build up play through Tash Stageman, Jemima Mawson and Issy Green.
Nancy Wellman was in top form in the midfield closing down attacks and turning the ball over back in to attack through Tomi Hafferty and Hannah McMellon.
The next goals were from Sam Casson again from baseline magic and a Sam Casson strike cheekily touched in by Miriam Hides who had taken up residence by the Brigg post.
Marni Greig had a shot go just wide soon after. Then after a quick restart and some confusion at the back, Sophie Tomlinson was forced to make another excellent save.
Sheffield Hallam recovered and then it was the Brigg goalkeeper who was under relentless pressure with a further superb goal from Emmy Beeby over the top of the goalie- to bring the score to 6-0.
Briggs talented midfielders would have been disappointed with the score line but Sheffield Hallam were delighted with the win- as it showed continued determination to keep the high pace of the game for the full 70minutes, and total commitment to win every ball by getting to it first and then keeping it.
It also keeps the side in touch ith the top end of Division 4 South although the side have more games than the teams around them.
