Summer Hockey Camp

This Summer Sheffield HC will be hosting an Olympic themed hockey camp for ages 7-15 from the 23rd - 27th of July.

Join us this summer and feel the buzz of the Olympic medal ceremony. Stand on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd podium as you collect the rewards for your hard work at this years Olympic themed camp. Take part in activities as a nation. Learn their customs and language as you learn their style of hockey. Our experienced camp coaches will provide an action packed five days with opportunities to learn the different philosophies of the hockey nations competing in the Olympics this year. Whether it’s the fast counter attacking style of the Aussies or the skill driven style of the Indians you are sure to learn something new. Each medal will add towards an overall score and the player of the camp will receive a special prize to be announced!

Learning will take place on the pitch and indoors at our athlete village with informative videos being shown of each nation's style. Guest coaches will visit the camp to add to the wealth of knowledge and develop skills such as flicking & Goal keeping. There will be a GB, Aussie, Indian & Argentinean themed day throughout the week as well as teams representing Spain, Pakistan, South Africa and many more.

Where:

All hockey will take place at Abbeydale Sports Club, home of Sheffield Hockey Club. Abbeydale Sports Club has a quality on-site water based astro turf and excellent auxiliary changing and refreshment facilities.

It is situated on Abbeydale Road South, Dore, Sheffield S17 3LJ, the ground is easily accessed by car and 97 bus.

What you need:

  • Standard sports clothing i.e. trainers, shorts, tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt, hoodie, jacket and wet weather clothes are a necessity.
  • Personal protective equipment: Gum shield and shin pads.
  • Sun screen, packed lunch and water container should be brought each day
