Hockey Development Officer

Sheffield Hockey Club first introduced the role of Hockey Development Officer back in 2005, marking our commitment to the development of Hockey within South Yorkshire. Working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, we are incredibly proud to facilitate such an important role within the city of Sheffield. Whilst we have already experienced a great deal of success, we recognise that there is a great deal more to do and we look forward to working with you to achieve this.

What does the role involve?

The Hockey Development Officer is responsible for working on the development objectives for Sheffield Hockey Club's Junior section, increasing hockey participation and ensuring that all players have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

The Development Officer will be creating partnerships with charities, schools, School Sports Partnerships and other sports clubs over the next year to achieve short and long term objectives identified in Sheffield Hockey Club's five year development plan including:

  • Creation of a strategic junior development plan to make Sheffield HC a centre of excellence for hockey in South Yorkshire.
  • Promote Club products and services in local schools.
  • Facilitate hockey competitions across School Sport Partnerships.
